15 Months!

Miss Piper is 15 months old!  I can't believe how much she has grown and changed just in the past few months.  At her check up this month she weighed 13 lbs 14 oz and is 27 inches long.  She is still a tiny little person, but she has a big personality all her own and we are getting to know more and more about who she is each month!
One of the biggest changes over the past month has been her transition from moving around on hands and knees to running on her feet.  Pipey is now a full on walker and the world is her oyster!  Once she took off, there was no stopping those itty bitty feet and now she can really keep up with her big sister, which makes her a happy girl!

Her new found skill seems to have brought on another change that we are all pretty excited about...independence!  We have seen her allowing some of those who are closest to her to actually get close to her and maybe even hold her.  We sometimes joke that they may have forgotten to cut the umbilical cord because Piper likes to keep me only a very short distance away from her at all times, but I have also been seeing her relax a little more and experiment with letting me out of her sight from time to time.  I think that we are both loving this little bit of freedom!  I am definitely still her safe place and I love that she will come curl up into my lap to cuddle or snuggle into my neck, she definitely has a mama time quota that has to be filled each day.

Some things we love about our toddler....
  • She is total snuggler
  • Kisses, hugs and smiles
  • Her wave that is a cross somewhere between the Pope's and the Queen's
  • She is a fabulous helper!  She loves to be given a task and she gives herself plenty of applause
  • Her little curls
  • The games that she and shares just with her sister that have them both laughing like crazy
  • The excited way she greets us, especially daddy when he comes through the door after work
  • She is starting to like to dance and twirl

Piper adores being outside....she especially loves the snow (and eating snow...yuck!)

She wouldn't be a toddler if she didn't have an ornery side too....
  • We've nicknamed her our little tornado because being tiny does not stop her from making a HUGE mess!
  • If a toilet seat is left up, she is guaranteed to be splashing in it
  • She has mastered climbing up on chairs so that she can stand on top of the table and then she beams with pride
  • For as much as Riley wanted to talk at this age, Piper is just as determined NOT to talk.  She prefers to shriek and point to get what she wants...we are sooo ready for a few more words to emerge
  • She is stubborn and will throw herself to the ground when she doesn't get what she wants...it's pretty cute right now, but I'm a little afraid of what's ahead.
A little naked reading....

Our little girl is sweet, she silly, a little bit of a troublemaker and anything but quiet, but she is all ours and we love her to pieces!
