Soccer

Riley has had her first introduction into team sports this fall as she played on a soccer team with 4 other little girls from her school.  Her team, the Rainbows, had a great first season!

Kris loved playing on soccer team when he was little and he could not wait for Riley to play.  It made for some really busy Saturdays in September and October, but Riley had fun and we loved watching her learn a new sport and get better as she played every week.

Olivia is 2 Months Old

Happy 2 months to our sweet Miss Olivia!

Our baby girl is growing and she is changing so much!  At her 2 month check-up she weighed 9lbs 12oz and she is 22 inches long, right about the 25th percentile for both.  She is obviously bigger than Piper was at the age and just a little smaller than Roo was.
It took me 3 tries, but I think I may have gotten a baby who likes sleep as much as I do!  This little one is very happy to sleep most of the day away and the night too, only waking up once or twice to nurse and then going right back to sleep.  Olivia is so laid back, I think that she might be the most contented of our girls.  She loves to be held and snuggled, but she is also perfectly happy to sit in her bouncy chair or lay under her mobile.

Even though our sleeping beauty spends a lot of time with her eyes closed, she has also started opening them a little bit and we are getting to know her much better.  Our "Vivia" is such a happy baby and she gives the best smiles!  She loves to be talked to and has started to find her own voice so that she can "talk" back to us.  Her big sisters are 2 of her favorite people and she gets sooo excited when they come to entertain her with their usual silliness.

We've had lots outings this month, including her first trip to the zoo (which she pretty much slept through) and just running her sisters to school and activities and I could not be more amazed at how easily Olivia just goes with the flow.  It my just be that the third kid doesn't really have a choice but either way, I am a grateful Mama that she has fit so easily into our family and the crazy routine we have right now.

We are absolutely loving the new baby of our family and we are so thankful for all of the snuggles, smiles and coos that this little Miss is all too happy to give.

Happy Halloween!

The biggest of our littles had a fabulous Halloween this year!  In fact, you know you know that it's going to be a pretty good year when you have enough dress-up occasions to make use of 2 costumes like Riley Roo.

Piper was a little mouse this year, it was the perfect fit for our peanuts personality.  Like most kids who are discovering this holiday for the first time, the whole concept was a hit.  Walk around looking cute and get candy...what's not to love?

Riley was on fall break the week before Halloween, so we managed to get in a trip to one of the their favorite places, The Children's Museum, for their celebration.  We also did Boo at the Zoo after dark and Pomona's trick or treat street.   We had more candy than we needed before the actual holiday arrived, but both girls just loved getting dressed up!

On Halloween, there was a great little party at the Riley's school to start things off and then we headed to the annual pre-trick or treat pizza party at the Abote's before setting our kids loose on the neighborhood.  For the kindergarteners, there was no walking this year...it was a mad dash from house to house on the hunt for candy.  It was sooo windy and a little cold, but Piper insisted on walking and sobbed most of the way, but she refused to give up on trick or treating.  So we followed her as she walked very slowly from house to house with her pumpkin over one arm and a candy bar in the other hand.  Olivia was dressed in her skeleton outfit and snuggled into the stroller for the night, perfectly happy to sleep away her 1st Halloween.

Riley was quite proud of her stash of candy this year and a little territorial over it too.  It used to be so easy for Mom and Dad to get away with eating her treats, darn!  A totally happy, fun and successful Halloween!
