Winter Catch-up

It has been a long, cold winter and mom has fallen waaaaay behind on blogging again, so I thought that I would post a quick update so that you can see what our girls have been up to while we are waiting for Spring!
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Riley has been working hard in school and did her first oral report in costume as Sacajawea. She's also been keeping the tooth fairy busy...she has lost her two front teeth and another top tooth too!
Riley joined a Daisy troop and has sold lots of Girl Scout cookies!  We had her Investiture ceremony last week where she got her official pins and had to give her Girl Scout oath.
Her troop is made up of little girls from Excel and I love seeing the friendships that she is forming now that she is in school.
Piper has been busy being the best middle sister ever!
She has been doing lots of jumping, climbing, hanging and perfecting her "Cookie Monster" voice.

Just being sweet and silly...and a little bit ornery too!
And Livvy is continuing to be the World's Happiest Baby
With the cold, she is spending her fair share of time getting bundled up for school and activity runs, but at least she gets to sport cute hats!
One of our favorite things in winter is when the Stock Show comes to town, we definitely got our fill of farm animals.

Piper even got her first cowgirl hat this year!

We had a mini mountain vacay and had a great time hanging out with our friends, the Nichols, and playing with our kids in the snow.

I got to go ice skating with my girls. Piper was exhausted and passed out face down in the sled...
And Riley was loving every second! Next year, she'll be working on her lutz triple sow cow :)
We had a special mom-daughter date for tea at the Brown Palace with Aunt Phoebe, Gigi and Maddie to celebrate her 18th birthday.

And I turned 35 and celebrated my birthday and Valentine's with all of my favorite people!
Not that we haven't been having some fun, but we are officially over the cold and ready for Spring!

Olivia is 6 Months Old!

Happy half birthday Olivia Diane!
It is hard to believe that we are already halfway through our baby's first year and yet so amazed by the little person that has been emerging all this time.  She weighed 12 lbs, 13 oz (5th percentile) at her check-up this month and 25.5 inches long (50th percentile).
At 6 months old, Livy is a bubbly, smiley little chatterbox.  She loves to blow raspberries and play with her feet and being read to, sung to or just talked to make her a happy, happy girl.  How lucky are we that she is so easy to please?!

Olivia has been figuring out how her hands work and she is pretty good grabbing onto everything that comes into reach, along with pulling hair and pinching faces.  She is a total chewer, happy to suck on fingers, toes and blankets or clothes...really anything that can reach her mouth. Books are a new obsession, for both the pictures and of course the chewing potential.

She doesn't have any teeth just yet, but we are starting to introduce her to some food now. Bananas and oatmeal are her faves!

Her sisters are her best buddies and their silliness is something she can't get enough of. Her entire body quivers with excitement when they play with her.

She loves to stand and bounce and is so happy to have grown into her jumper. She can jump and play to her hearts content all while watching her sisters run circles around the house.
Big sissy Piper hugs on our baby just about any chance she gets!

I absolutely adore the way that this baby has always clasped her little toes together when she lays on her back and I love that she hasn't outgrown that yet!

The first half of this year has gone by entirely too quickly for me, but we have loved watching her grow and change and can't wait to see what the next 6 months will bring for Livy!  We are thankful everyday for the blessing of a 3rd baby girl who fills all of our hearts with love!
