Today Riley got her very first haircut. Over the past few months her hair has gone through a major growth spurt and we have reached a point where not only can we pull it up into a single sprout on top, but we can now do pigtails!!!! So why the haircut you may ask? Well, it was starting to get a little uneven and a few pieces were coming close to her eyes so we figured it might be time for a little trim.
"Pre-cut"
We took her to Lollilocks, a children's salon, as we figured this was a job best left to professionals. She did not love her first salon experience, but didn't help that I had to wake her up from a nap to make our appointment.
For those who hadn't heard and maybe wondering from the pictures, Riley got her first major owie last weekend and very visable result are the cuts on her nose and blackish/purplish color around her eyes. While reading books with her daddy last weekend, Riley stood up and took a tumble off of our bed and into the bedside table. The fall along with the trip to the ER was quite the trauma for both baby and mommy & daddy, but she was such a tough little cookie. She is already so much better and looking forward to the traditional milkshake that comes with your first blackeye her Gigi has promised her.

OMG! You had to go to the ER?!!!! I am so sorry! That must have been so scary. I am glad she is OK though. All I can say is those pictures of her getting her haircut with a big pouty face are perhaps the best pictures I have ever seen. Hilarious. Her haircut looks very good, much less tramautic than James' first haircut from Lollilocks.
Poor Riley! I'm glad that she's just sporting a shiner and wasn't hurt more seriously. You probably lost about 10 years off your life.
Her hair is cute- and she must be a much more compliant girl than ours. I have only been able to wrangle pigtails into her hair about 4 times, and they looked a mess- not all tidy like Riley's. :)
We're so glad Riley is alright! She looks so cute in her pigtails~reminds me of her Mommy when we were little :-)
Thank goodness she is okay. I feel for you and Kris and I am sure you were just a sick mess!!! As for Lollilocks, she looks adorable and you have to get the shampoo and ponytail holders there as they are the bomb.com!!! Lets get together again soon.
