August really snuck up on me and I now realize that I was completely remiss in my posting for pretty much all of last month. So, I thought I would post a little recap of what Riley's been up to in the past month.
Reading "Fox and da Hound"
Riley's very own version of finger painting. Who needs paper when you can paint your finger and toe nails?
Riley enjoying her fave dessert, ice cream, at concert in the park
Riley's favorite activity has been swimming and we have easily spent about 4 days out each week hanging out and cooling off in Gigi and Popdaddy's pool. Riley has always been comfortable in the water, but we are amazed at the progress that she has made in her swimming skills just by spending so much time in the water. At the begining of the summer we bought her a swim vest that helps her to be able to float independently in the water and she has learned to float on her tummy and paddle and kick to move through the water, back float, and stick her face in the water. She likes to dive down with her head under the water and has just started asking to dive for things on the bottom too. She is so proud of herself and we watching her.

Riley also got to spend time playing with friends in the park, at the zoo and of course in the pool too.
Riding the train at Belleview Park
Playing in the stream with friends
Tomorrow we are headed north to Alaska for our 2 week trip to visit Bunky Ryan and Auntie Kelly so we'll have lots of new storys and pictures to post about our latest adventure!
