Riley's New House!

I have been completely remiss in my blogging for over a month now but it hasn't been for lack of effort.  September brought a big change to our family...a new house!  We loved our old house and weren't really looking to move, but just before our trip to Alaska we came across a house that we loved in a neighborhood that we adore and everything fell into place like it needed to so we pretty much felt like it was meant to be.

We've been here for almost a month now and are still trying to get settled in, but we love everything about our new house!  We weren't sure how Riley would react to the move and leaving our old house,  but she did amazingly well and didn't even seem to mind having all of her stuff packed away.  We are so lucky that she can make her own fun pretty much anywhere she goes, because it took a few days to dig some of her playthings out of the boxes.

We decided that with the new house and new room, it might be time for Miss Riley to have a new "big girl" bed instead of her crib.  She has done very well with the transition and has had no problems whatsoever with sleeping in her very own big girl bed.  The other day when her grandma asked her about how she liked her new house Riley responded by saying "Well, I have a big girl room that I love!".

We are all so happy in our new house and we love our new neighborhood.  Riley especially loves that she has what she calls "her very own" park and private pond just about a block away from our house.  We have already spent alot of time at the playground and Riley could spend a whole day throwing rocks and sticks into the pond.

Congrats you guys!!! The house looks awesome and we are so glad everything worked out. Hope you are enjoying all the fun that comes with a new house. And we are startled by how grown-up Riley looks in all these pics. Where did our babies go? Can't wait to see you in Dec.

Congrats! I know how challenging moving with a 2 year old is, so I'm glad it went well. Riley's hair has gotten so long- reminds me of Zephyr's, although I can see Riley lets you style hers :) Enjoy the new home!
