Piper's 2 Months Old!

This is already moving a little too fast for me...our baby is 2 months old already!

We had her 2 month check-up today and our healthy baby girl now weighs 7lbs 11oz and is 21 inches long!  It seems crazy to me that that is just a tiny bit bigger than Riley was when she was born!
We are getting to know our little one better and better every day.  She still sleeps away most of the day and  while I had high hopes for a child that loved sleep as much as I do, I'm pretty sure that Miss P does not share my dream.  She's definitely a high maintenance sleeper, with the exception of her 4 hour stint on her snuggle cushion at night she has to either be snuggled against my chest in her wrap or swaddled in someones arms in order to sleep soundly.  If she is laid on her back she will almost always instantly awaken and in the case that she does manage to stay asleep briefly she is an incredibly light sleeper and will wake at the tiniest noise.  I'm pretty sure everything I was told about the sleeping habits of the 2nd child were all lies.  There is not much to hate about a sleepy baby who likes to snuggle though and she absolutely the best at it, so for now I am thoroughly enjoying the cuddles and trying not to think about the sleep hijinx that the future holds.

She does have more and more awake time each day and she is very alert and happy.  I think that Piper might  just might be a talker like her big sis, because she is already trying to tell us what's on her mind. We get lots of coos and some really great expressions! Her smiles are getting bigger by the day and more frequent too...I finally managed to capture a few.

We have also decided that little Pipey is determined to be a thumb sucker.  From the day she was born, she has been on a mission to get that elusive digit into her little mouth.  So far it hasn't cooperated but she's pretty persistent and is getting closer to getting some cooperation from that thumb.
Piper has the best big sister that she could ever ask for.  She is the very 1st person Riley wants to see when she wakes up in the morning and she greets her with kisses on the top of her head.  Her smiles immediately light up Piper's little face, she loves her Riley!
While a lot of people still seem think that she looks an awful lot like Roo, she is definitely her own little person.  We're not exactly sure who she looks most like but I definitely think that my genes asserted themselves a little more in this baby.  I'm pretty sure that I played a role in Riley's make-up too, but it's not quite as obvious :)

We absolutely adore our baby girl and are so anxious to see the growth that her 3rd month brings!

Wow is she beautiful! I love that last picture! I can definitely see you in her Holland. Her mouth and chin are all Kris/Riley, but everything else is you! We need to get together so I can snuggle that sweet baby. She might hit Mac's birth weight by 4 months ;)
