Halloween is so much fun with 3 little girls to dress up! This year Riley thought long and hard about who she wanted to be, Elsa or Anna....and then she went in a completely different direction and decided on Pirate Princess. Piper is pretty obsessed with Mickey and friends right now, so Minnie Mouse was a clear winner for her and Livvy was the easiest since we already have some really cute baby costumes on hand. She could and did have multiple costume changes for our different Halloween events.
On the Friday before Halloween, we went with friends to Boo at the Zoo after dark. The girls trick or treated around the zoo for all kinds of yummy treats, the most coveted being the full size candy bars. We totally lucked out and had a warm night so that the kids didn't have to be bundled over their costumes.
This event is always a little tough on our 2 smallest who like to be in bed by 8, but they were both troopers and hung in despite the late night...well and the candy was a pretty good incentive for Piper.
On Halloween, Piper and Olivia got dressed up to go to Riley's class party. You'll notice that from this point on, Riley has also had a little costume change, as the night before she decided to wear a witch costume instead...not exactly great timing to change the whole get up, but we rolled with it.
After entirely too many cupcakes and candy at the school party and a nearly non existent nap for little 2, I would have been perfectly content to skip the main event that was yet to come, but clearly that couldn't happen so we costumed up and headed out to trick or treat with our neighborhood friends. The kids absolutely love running from door to door with all of their little friends, but it also gets a little crazy. We had a little bit of a later start than some of the other and so after a while, it was just us and our girls and that was pretty much the perfect way to end a crazy day. Riley and Piper were really excited that their daddy got dressed up too and the lovely called him "hot dog" instead of dad.
After we emptied the neighbors of their candy we headed over to Gigi and Pops for pizza and candy sorting and the girls helped hand out candy. Their day was made in so many ways! I'm so thankful for a Saturday tomorrow where the girls can recover from the late night and the sugar buzz. Ah Halloween!
