Riley loves just about everything Sesame Street, especially Elmo, so needless to say it was a pretty big deal when we took her to see the live version of the show on Saturday. This was our first experience with live kid entertainment so we weren't sure how Riley would do, but she loved every second of it. We were in the first row off the floor and right next to the stage, so we were in the perfect spot to see all of the characters and Cookie Monster and Elmo even came up and touched her which she thought was really cool. She has also made sure to tell eveyone about her up close and personal encounter with 2 of her faves. The event was topped by a bunch of really cool Elmo and Sesame Street stuff that she got to take home courtesy of her Great Uncle John who has a friend that runs the show. It doesn't get much better than that!
Later that night, Riley also got to have some fun with her Gigi and Bop and spend the night at their house. This was the first time that she has spent the night away from us since she born, so it was a pretty big milestone. Gigi and Popdaddy made it a really special night for Riley and she had a great time with them just as we knew that she would. Her first night away also coincided with our first night of uniterrupted sleep in almost 2 years, since sleep is a luxury around this house, we really enjoyed being able to sleep straight through the night and even sleep in a little bit. It was a little bit hard for us to imgaine spending the night away from her, but we are glad that we did and so happy that she did so well with it. Our little girl is growing up!
