This afternoon, we took advantage of the beautiful spring weather and an invitation from friends to go to the zoo. We love to hang out with our buddies and Riley loves any excuse to go see the animals, especially the elephants and giraffes.

Riley also got to go on her very first zoo train ride and was pretty impressed with whole experience.
However, she was not so enthusiastic about the carousel ride that came shortly after. This was Riley's 2nd carousel and this time was even slightly worse than the first. She was okay just standing on the carousel while it went around but wanted nothing to do with actually riding on one of the animals. She couldn't even be convinced to ride along with Bubba James.
Our day would not have been complete without some ice cream. Riley adores ice cream, she asks for it several times a day, yet when Kara handed her a vanilla ice cream cone she looked at it like she had never seen it before in her life. I have no explanation for her reaction, except she has never actually eaten ice cream off the cone before so maybe she wasn't sure about that part of it. After getting a spoon, she let me feed her some bites and then finally decided to give the whole cone a try. She is now a pro at eating ice cream with a cone!

The grumpy-faces carousel picture cracks me up. Poor Roo was not impressed! And I seriously can not get over how funny she was with not wanting to eat that ice cream cone at first. Silly girl!
